The School's Governing Body

This page introduces the members of our school's Governing Body. Together with the Headteacher the Governors lead the school by setting the vision and establishing the right culture to drive forward improvement to ensure the best life chances are secured for every child.

Full Governing Body meetings are held each term; at these, school issues are discussed as are Local Authority and Government issues which affect the school. Minutes are available for public interest; please see the links from this page.

The Governing Body contains four committees: Finance & Premises; Policy & Curriculum; Management and Admissions. Each Governor belongs to at least one of these committees and will attend a minimum of one meeting per term. Currently a very active working party is looking to forward the proposed new build.

Governors represent different interests within the school. In a Church of England (Voluntary Aided) school such as Needwood the different capacities are: Foundation (Church at local or diocesan level); Parent; Staff; County Council.
